Any ideas how to get the Window updates downloading and installing again? My Windows 7 Home Premium stopped downloading and installing updates in May It is now almost August of and I’m stumped. Downloading that “update” pack only installs the windows update standalone installer that does the same exact thing as the regular windows update method; endless “searching for updates” message even after 48 hours of continuous searching. Based on the countless countless posts about this very same issue I’d say this is a problem on Microsoft’s end and they simply don’t care to fix it.

In reply to Matt’s post on July 29, Are you on Windows 10? Prior to manual installation of KB, set automatic updates to “Never check for updates” and restart Windows. If your system is bit download the x84 package. Double click the package you downloaded to launch the installer and let it complete.
